We want to minimize the environmental impact caused by solid waste from our direct operations through Circular Economy initiatives.
how do we act?
We operate on a strategy based on the 3Rs, with initiatives to reduce, reuse and recycle solid waste.
Reduce
Reduce
It is the first guideline adopted and consists of minimizing waste generation. Some examples: We work to reduce the weight of our packaging and introduce innovations that make our products more sustainable. The packaging for refills of Boticário Group’s products has around 78% less plastic than conventional packaging. Furthermore, with eco design, we created solutions such as the monomaterial casing on Intense brand bullet lipsticks, resulting in an even more sustainable product and allowing it to enter the recycling chain – a pioneering initiative by Boticário Group.
Reuse
Reuse
Reusing occurs in the action of whenever possible reusing a product/material more times or finding new functions of use, in order to extend its useful life. At Boticário Group, we work with reuse in our factories and distributions centers: we have already reused more than 3,600¹ tons of cardboard.

Recycle
Recycle
Recycling is the process of transforming solid waste into new products/materials. At Boticário Group, we operate a reverse logistics program for cosmetic packaging of any brand available in our stores (O Boticário, QDB, Tô que tô, and Eudora). Some of these materials have already been recycled and transformed in our sustainable stores. Each store was built with 1 ton of recycled plastic. We currently have 50 sustainable stores.

One of the first actions we can take is to “Rethink” and take action consciously. Some simple habits we can adopt:
1) Separate your waste – Separating waste for recycling is a simple but important activity. Simply separate organics from dry materials, facilitating the reuse of materials.
2) Reduce the use of disposables – Choose to use refillable products and materials that can be reused.
3) Reuse utensils as much as possible.

- You can return packaging from ANY cosmetics and beauty brand at our more than 4,000 points of sale.
- They can be delivered both to our stores and to resellers.
REVERSE LOGISTICS IS FUNDAMENTAL IN THIS PROCESS, AS IT ENABLES THE COLLECTION AND SEPARATION OF PRODUCTS THAT CAN BE RECYCLED.
